Dr. B. Bapuji, B.Sc.,M.B.B.S.,N.D. was born on 12th July 1950, in the family of Doctors and Naturopaths. Since childhood while staying in the premises of Nature cure hospital, had the opportunity of seeing patients getting well from so called intractable diseases and getting discharged. Both parents Dr. B. Venkat Rao & Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi were well known Naturopaths (between 1950-1990) in India who developed a 150 bedded hospital in Hyderabad, India and also started a full fledged 4 year course in Naturopathy at Gandhi Nature cure College in 1969, Gandhi Centenary year. This was with a view to train future Naturopaths in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and clinical diagnostic methods and standardize the treatment approach in the system of Naturopathy.

Dr. Bapuji completed bachelor's degree in Botany, zoology and Chemistry in 1971 and took up M.B., B.S 1972 and 1977 with clear aim to do Naturopathy after the Medical course. 1978 -80 finished N.D. (diploma in Naturopathy), the only course available recognized by Board of Indian Medicine at that time. He was appointed as "Doctor on special duty" to handle complicated cases and emergencies in the patients undergoing treatment in Nature Cure Hospital in 1980 and promoted as Chief Medical Officer in 1982 and then as Superintendent of the Hospital in 1986. He also held full additional charge of Gandhi Nature Cure College as Principal between 1985-1987. He was appointed as Dean, faculty of Indian Medicine (Naturopathy) in 1987 by the University of Health Sciences, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. The state government took over Nature cure hospital & Gandhi Nature Cure College in 1987 and during his tenure under Govt. Dr. Bapuji could add 80 bedded General ward building through the government, got revised the staff salaries to Govt. scales and upgrade the existing diploma course (N.D) to a degree course (B.N.Y.S-Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences), the first University recognized degree course in the World.

He is the first graduate of Modern Medicine to have taken up Naturopathy as his career, in India. He has given a scientific approach to the system of Naturopathy, specifying its scope and limitations. His approach of practice is an integrated one in the best interest of people in restoration of Health.

He has been a visiting Guest Faculty to the following institutions on the subject of "Executive Health & Stress Management" and the session has been rated Excellent in the content and as well as in the mode of presentation:

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and many other institutions...

Presently He is a practicing CONSULTANT at Nature Cure Health Care Center, Hyderabad and also the Medical Advisor to Nagarjuna Group of Industries.

* Was a keen Flier and was the only cadet out of nine to have done SOLO flying on a single engine Propeller aircraft in 1970 while in National Cadet Corps.

Parents Late Dr. B. Venkatrao & late Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi were renowned Naturopaths and Gandhian followers. Younger brother is the other second modern Medicine Doctor practicing Naturopathy in Hyd.; the youngest brother is a Medical Oncologist (hematology) in Austin, Texas, settled since 1983 in USA. Wife, Dr. Rani Bapuji N.D. is managing Nature Cure Health Care Center in Hyderabad since 1982. They have two children - Lavanya 19yrs. Daughter, Adithya 17yrs., both in college.

He was initiated to public speaking and training by late Sri K.V.K. Raju, founder of Nagarjuna group of Industries, who was and continues to be his Guide, Friend, and Philosopher.
